CJ Thoroughbreds Will Never Leave A Horse Behind

17-year-old Kira and her new horse, Breezy Belle.

Meet Breezy Belle, a three-year-old Louisiana-bred Thoroughbred filly. Breezy Belle was purchased at the Texas Two-Year-Olds In Training Sale by CJ Thoroughbreds as a racehorse for the CJ-managed Texas Thoroughbred Racing Club. Breezy Belle was professionally trained and raced in Texas at Sam Houston Race Park and Lone Star Park. After three races, it was obvious that Breezy Belle did not have the heart or desire to be a racehorse. Wanting to ensure Breezy Belle found a good home, Marilyn and Lou Meyer, members of the racing club purchased Breezy Belle from the club and sent the filly to a Texas retraining and rehoming facility operated by notable racehorse trainer Dallas Keen and his wife Donna. Donna retrained Breezy Bell and in August 2023 Breezy Belle was adopted by the Jackson family who live in the Houston area. Breezy Belle is now at her forever home with the Jacksons on a farm in Sugarland. The Jackson's 17-year-old daughter Kira and Breezy Belle are bonding while trail riding and Kira has plans to compete with her as a jumper. We wanted to share this heartwarming story on the beautiful bond between people and horses and salute CJ Thoroughbreds for standing by their values of never leaving a horse behind.
