Two Thoroughbreds, who broke their maidens at first asking at Belmont Park on May 28, were raised at the CJ Thoroughbreds farm in Midway, Kentucky. The Wine Steward was a first time two-year-old winner in the first race.
That was followed by the three-year-old filly Virtual Reality, who won the fourth race. Both races were maiden special weight events.
“The two horses, both raised on our Midway farmland are both winners on the same day, at the same track, is beyond ironic. It’s a strong statement that our Midway farm bluegrass, rolling pastures and overall environment is a major factor in raising sound, successful racehorses,” commented Corey Johnsen.
